Like I previously announced in this post, Sun Ken Rock is part of the manga selection of the Japan Expo Awards 2012 in the Seinen category. Ken needs your support!
The site is in french but voting is easy, just follow these short steps:
1. Go to the “Votez!” tab, then in the “Manga” category.
2. Select your manga, enter your e-mail, the captcha and hit “Valider”.
3. You’ll receive a validation e-mail, just click on the link provided and you’re done.

Sun-Ken Rock volume 15 [UPDATED]
Sun-Ken Rock volume 15 is now available in preorder from Amazon! It’ll be published the 23rd April 2012.
As volume 14 had SKR Gaiden Yumin level 1 as extra chapter and I think level 2 will be this volume’s extra, to make the page count fit, it should be composed of SKR level 92 to 97 plus SKR Gaiden Yumin level 2.
There is no visual of the cover yet, however you can already preorder it on amazon.co.jp. This post will be updated once the cover is made public.
On another note, SKR level 96 is already available in mag (Young King #8) but sadly the raw provider didn’t bought/scan it yet. I found another alternative that I’ll can use if needed.
HOWEVER, I could also wait for the 23rd to buy and scan the volume. This would means several things:
1- Volume scan provide a better quality
2- The cover
3- Hardcover bonus and omake
4- Time and money saved.
Think about it, if you can wait 2 more week for these 2 chapter or not and answer the poll. Following the result, I’ll make my decision by monday.
[UPDATE] Sun Ken Rock volume 15 contain SKR level 92 to 95. Why only 4 chapter? That’s because SKR Gaiden Pickaxe calamity 1 to 5 are in this volume. SKR volume 16 starts with level 96
Sun Ken Rock re-edition part 2
First a word, as you might have seen ads are now displaying on www.sunkenrock.com. I know that some will be against it but these ads would have been there anyways if I didn’t pay for the yearly wordpress.com package. From what I can see, there is only 1 per page.
Why ads? Some people might already know but Batoto’s ads sharing system is currently unavailable. It means that we have considerably less money to pay for the raw, servers (Japanzai’s) and other service. These ads are here to help cover these cost and I don’t think they’ll hinder the time spent on this site. It’s not a definite setting, if we find an alternative it could really well be removed as soon as tomorrow. Of course, feel free to voice your opinion about it, I’ll be considering each of them.
Now, to make myself forgiven (a bit?) I come here with the news of 2 chapter of SKR that fell into my lap earlier today. Of course I’m talking about level 98 and 99. I’ll do my best to release them the earliest possible.
In the meantime, enjoy the 2nd part of our SKR V2, it is made of 4 chapters going from partial to full re-edition. Enjoy

Win a SKR contest – April
Congratulation to Berdugo for winning the Win a SKR contest April edition. As planned, he’ll receive his price: Sun Ken Rock volume 1 in Japanese.
There wasn’t a voting thread for this contest because Berdugo was the only one to send me an entry and so won by default. It doesn’t lower the quality of his fanart and I hope you’ll enjoy it.
As announced, the contest will run for one more month and I’ll decide whether it’s to be halted or not by the end of Mai.

Sun Ken Rock re-edition part 1
Still no raw for Sun Ken Rock level 98 
So what can I do to occupy my mind (once finished all of my other project)? I was re-reading Sun Ken Rock once more and I spotted things that weren’t to my tastes. That’s why I aimed to make the chapters already available better.
Why is it needed? Scanlation is a fan work, and as such, always subject to improvement. Because of materials, time and other reasons, some chapters weren’t good enough for me. So here is the first part of these V2, going from a single page burning to several color page or a complete re-edition I hope you’ll enjoy them one more time. Continue reading
